009: All About Mindset with Evan Belogiannis

In this episode, I interview, Evan Belogiannis

Biography:

My goals in life are to create a company that is focused on sustainability and the environment and tackle some of the biggest world problems like world hunger, food security, and climate change. I love to read, strive to teach myself new skills daily and am currently on a quest for constant and never ending improvement. I am currently the Co-Founder of a company called Nutricium. We create a product called NU PODS, designed to deliver a complete and wholesome meal in seconds. All you need to do is add water, a bio-degradable nu-pod, shake and enjoy. I created nu pods as a way to tackle some of my own problems with finding a cheap and reliable source of nutrition. Struggling to make ends meet and working unusual work hours as an audio engineer, which led me to constantly rely on fast food as my main source of cheap nutrition. Tired, unhealthy and always feeling worn down, I decided to take action and do something about it. This is how I came up with the idea for nu pods. My dream is to rid the world of world hunger in my lifetime and create a cheap and healthy alternative to fast food. There are currently over 1.9 billion people worldwide who are overweight whilst 800 million people go hungry every day. With the world's population set to hit over 9 billion by the year 2050, food security is a problem that should be addressed today. With our nu pods, we can help distribute emergency food, nutrition and vitamins to areas of natural disaster, famine or conflict and help feed the world. Nu Pods - Bio-degradable pods that are good for your mind, body, and environment. A complete meal in seconds.

My Takeaways:

In this episode, Evan, and I discussed his transformation from a touring rock audio engineer guru that ate fast food, didn’t sleep, and treated his body like there was no tomorrow, to the day he went to the gym for a fitness test that caused him to be ill 24 hours later due to his level of health. Evan has taken a shift in his mindset by living only in the mere moment to thinking about the future and by balancing his life through the use of his regimented goal process and ensuring he has a positive mindset.

In this podcast, Evan mentions 3 books that have been very helpful to him on this journey:

Eaters Eat Last by Simon Sinek

Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman

Mindset: The New Psychology of Success by Carol S. Dweck

Here’s a Ted Talk of Carol S. Dweck on the topic of The Power of Believing That You Can Improve

I mentioned the book, The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod
