In this episode, I interview, Craig Kulyk.
Craig Kulyk writes about how habits, productivity and mindfulness intersect with creating good mornings. Although, his relationships with mornings haven’t also been so rosy. He was a morning grouch until 2012, when he started to work from home. He realized quickly that if he didn’t make the most of his morning, the day would slip away. As Craig invested more and more into mornings, he gradually discovered a gold mine of creativity, productivity and fulfillment that led him to start the blog, Create Good Mornings. Through his candid writing and crappy stick figure drawings, he shares tools, insights and tactics to help you customize your own good mornings on your own terms.
We discussed rituals, routines, mindfulness, happiness, efficiency, flow, gratitude, and so many other topics in this episode.
My key takeaway from this however was Craig’s discussion on awareness and intention. Once you are aware, ask yourself what and why you are doing things. He has an example in the show where he wants to ride his bicycle more often, however, recently it was raining and he chose not to ride. He spent the extra few seconds and examined why he didn’t want to ride and it was simply because he didn’t have rain gear. Problem solved.
