051: You’re Going to be Okay with Sherry Walling

In this episode, I interview, Sherry Walling.

Biography:

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist and the creator of ZenFounder, LLC, a trailblazing company that works with entrepreneurs and their families. We provide individual consulting, retreat planning, crisis management, and team consulting. I’m one-half of the ZenFounder podcast – a weekly collaboration with my husband, Rob Walling – that was recently named by Forbes as one of the “12 Best Podcasts for Entrepreneurs.” I’m also an award-winning academic, a passionate public speaker and an author.

Since graduating with Master’s degrees in psychology and theology and earning a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, I’ve spent most of the last decade working with individuals and families in private practice.

In recent years, however, my love of high-energy people and passion for health optimization has led me to focus on working with entrepreneurs, executives and other people with high-stress, high-intensity jobs.

My Takeaways:

There’s a lot of wisdom in this episode that I appreciated Sherry sharing with us. She was pretty adamant about being against multi-tasking which she really drove home when discussing how she schedules times with her children and ensures that she is focused on them which is so important. In addition, she discusses simply being present, fully present, when you are with people and giving them the time and attention that they deserve. In addition, her close circle of friends that she checks in with and shares her one high and one low of each day with. Finally, moving her body 5 days a week in yoga really helps her stay focused.
